The AI Chronicle: an entire news portal run by a team of AI agents
theaicronicle.com is our own project: a fully automated, bilingual (Greek / English) news portal about artificial intelligence. A team of AI agents discovers, researches, writes, translates, illustrates, publishes and voices the news 24/7, with no human intervention. It is proof that the AI systems we propose to clients are systems we build and operate ourselves first.
I want AI in my business →The project
The AI Chronicle ("The Intelligence That Keeps You Informed") is a fully autonomous, AI-agent-driven news portal about artificial intelligence. It covers ten categories, from research & science, economics, geopolitics and policy to companies, tools & models, AI in Greece, ethics & society, the future and markets, with every article available in Greek and English. The "newsroom" is five AI personas with distinct roles and voices: Clio (editor-in-chief), Diogenes (commentator), Solon (political analyst), Daedalus (technology) and Plutus (markets). The portal was developed and is operated by Qbrains with our AI platform OmniHelm.ai.
The challenge
We wanted to answer a question clients ask us all the time: "can AI really run an operation end to end, with quality, every single day?" A news portal is perhaps the most demanding place to test it:
- Speed. AI news breaks every hour, across dozens of sources and many languages. It needs continuous discovery, filtering and prioritisation.
- Quality & credibility. Every article needs sources, coherence, correct Greek and English, and a headline that earns the click without clickbait.
- Two languages, one audience. Greek and international readers must read the same content, simultaneously, with correct hreflang and structured data for Google.
- Many formats. Text, images, debates between personas, audio podcasts, a newsletter, a timeline, a markets ticker.
- Zero human intervention. The goal was not "AI that helps an editor" but a system that works on its own, 24/7, and scales.
What we built
A chain of specialised AI agents, from source to reader.
A team of AI agents for research, writing & translation
At the heart of the system is a team of agents with distinct roles: discovery agents that monitor sources and spot what deserves coverage, research agents that gather and cross-check facts, writing agents with each persona's voice, translation agents for the English edition and review agents that judge quality and consistency before publication. Every article ships with a category, related articles, reading time and a GR / EN toggle.

Auto-generated debates & podcasts
The personas do not only write, they argue. The system produces AI debates between two or three columnists on the day's topics and automatically turns them into mp3 podcasts with natural voices, published with an embedded player and a link to the full debate. The same content reaches people who prefer to listen, without a single minute of human recording.

Publishing platform, images & the English edition
We built our own publishing platform with automatic image generation via API for every article, an AI timeline, a markets ticker, an About section, pages for each persona and a separate English edition at /en. Structured data, sitemaps and hreflang are generated automatically, so every new article is ready for Google and Google News from the first minute.

SEO, Google News & distribution
A portal without readers is a paper exercise. We worked on technical SEO, category structure, speed and news-specific signals so that The AI Chronicle was accepted into Google News for the USA and Greece. The newsletter, with an automatically composed digest of the week's top stories, and the podcasts complete the distribution. All of it is hosted on our own infrastructure, with the same care we give our clients' sites.

Results
The AI Chronicle has reached 3,054,624 unique users and has published 18,698 articles, each in two languages, that is more than 37,000 published content pages. It is included in Google News for the USA and Greece, generates mp3 podcasts automatically and has 133 newsletter subscribers. The entire system, from discovering a story to publishing, translating, illustrating and voicing it, is fully automated.
For us, the most important result is the know-how: when we design an AI agent for your business, for customer service, content production or process automation, we know what it means to run in production, with a real audience, every day.
"We don't just apply AI. We build and operate our own AI products. The AI Chronicle and OmniHelm.ai are our daily practice, not a slide deck."Iraklis Aslanidis, CEO & Founder, Qbrains
