MyLiveGym: an online gym platform with workout videos, live classes and an AI coach
MyLiveGym is a Greek subscription-based online gym where members train from home with workout videos and live classes. It is a platform we developed and operate. The new app at app.mylivegym.gr was written from scratch in PHP 8.3, installs on a phone as a PWA, and brings video, live streaming, subscriptions, e-invoicing and AI together in one system.
I want my own platform →The project
MyLiveGym is an online gym with a monthly subscription. Members train whenever and wherever they want, with a library of workout videos, structured programmes and live classes. On the public site the subscription costs €15 a month with a 7-day free trial, and MyLiveGym positions itself as "the first online gym in Greece".
Qbrains developed the platform and operates it. The new app at app.mylivegym.gr replaced the previous one and covers the whole member journey, from sign-up and payment to daily training, progress tracking and the issuing of a receipt.
The challenge
An online gym looks simple from the outside. Inside, it is a subscription platform, a video system and an accounting system rolled into one.
- Video from two sources. The workout library had to play content from both Wowza (HLS) and Vimeo without the member noticing the difference.
- Live classes. On top of on-demand videos, the platform had to stream live classes.
- Mobile first. When training at home, the phone is often the screen within reach. The app had to behave like a mobile app without going through an app store.
- Subscriptions and Greek invoicing. Recurring card payments, bank transfer as an alternative, refunds, and transmission of receipts to myDATA, the Greek tax authority's e-invoicing platform.
- Management without a developer. The gym team had to set up programmes, upload videos and manage subscriptions on its own.
What we built
One platform, from the video to the receipt.
The member app as a PWA
The member app is written in PHP 8.3 on our own micro-framework, with Tailwind and Alpine.js on the front end. It installs on a phone as a PWA, with a home-screen icon and a full-screen view without the address bar.
Every day the member sees the lesson of the day from the programme they follow. They can browse the video library, save favourites, set goals and track their progress.

Workout videos and live classes
Workout videos come from two sources, Wowza over HLS and Vimeo, and the platform unifies them in a single library. In the admin panel the video library syncs with Vimeo. Live classes are also streamed over HLS, inside the same app.

An AI coach with multiple models
The platform has a built-in AI coach for members. It is not tied to one provider, as it uses models from Gemini, OpenAI and Anthropic.

Subscriptions, payments and e-invoicing
Subscriptions are billed through Stripe, and members can also pay by bank transfer. Refunds are handled from the admin panel. For every payment actually collected, a receipt is issued and transmitted to myDATA through Wrapp, so invoicing is not a manual job at the end of the month.
Members are verified with a one-time passcode (OTP) by SMS, and the platform's emails are sent through Mailgun.

An admin panel for the gym team
Behind the app sits a full admin panel. From there the team manages users and subscriptions, payments and refunds, receipts, trainers and programmes, the video library with Vimeo sync, live classes and platform statistics. That way the team sets up programmes and uploads videos without technical help.
For us, MyLiveGym proves that we can develop and run a complete subscription platform, with video, payments, invoicing and AI, not just hand it over. We bring the same experience to every custom application we design for our clients. Another platform we developed and run is The AI Chronicle.
